STIRLING COMPLETES PERFECT JDR WEEKEND
Oliver Stirling won the Sports2000 Pinto race to complete a perfect weekend for JDR at Snetterton.
Coming only a day after the win for JDR in Britcar Stirling qualified second in his Tiga SC80 behind the Shrike of Andy Mathew. Patrick Sherrington had a disastrous session in his sister Tiga having been hit by Jonathan Loader on the first lap. The damage to the car didn’t allow Sherrington to complete a lap in his ADI Solutions sponsored car meaning he would have to start from the back of the grid.
At the start of the race the Stirlings orange Tiga accelerated into the lead which it kept for the whole race. Mathews Shrike was never far behind but ultimately didn’t have enough speed to challenge the Tiga for the lead. Sherrington meanwhile had started from the back of the grid with his repaired car and surged through the field to catch 4th place Paul Street with one lap to go. Streets Swift proved too wide and Patrick had make do with 5th overall and 1st in the historic class along with a new Historic lap record.
The results see Stirling only 5 points behind in the Sports 200 Pinto Championship with Sherrington 6 points ahead in the Historic battle.
Stirlings win keeps up JDRs victory run. JDR has won every race its entered since the middle of 2007 giving un unbroken run of 13 triumphs.
