ELISE WINS AT SNETTERTON

David and Robert Fenn claimed an exciting and well deserved maiden Britcar Production win at Snetterton on Saturday in the John Danby Racing prepared Lotus Motorsport Elise.

Robert Fenn showed excellent pace in qualifying and posted a 1.13.2  lap which put the JDR Lotus in 3rd place overall behind the powerful BMW M3 CSLs which were well suited to the fast layout of the Norfolk circuit.

At the start David Fenn made a good getaway in the JDR Lotus Elise and settled into third place behind the fast starting BMW’s. A quick and consistent pace kept the Lotus in the lead battle and when the safety car was deployed just as the pit window opened. A decisive pit call was made to change drivers and refuel.

Rob Fenn continued driving duties after the pit stop finding himself only a few seconds behind the leading BMW. Robs quick pace saw the gap to the leader closing but with only a few laps to go the BMW suffered an catastrophic engine failure. Rob  cruised home as the winner over a lap ahead in the Lotus.

The win returns the team to the top of the championship table again with only 2 rounds to go.
